Good morning team,
I would like to obtain herbs that are suggested by Dr. Gardner. My question is where is there a reliable source/sources for a good quality product?
Thank you for your help.
As you can probably imagine, there are many levels of quality for all supplements, including herbs. The quality and content can be confusing for the following reasons:
- The amount listed may not be present.
- There can be toxins that are not removed, such as arsenic, mercury, lead. Although the testing is expensive, tablets and capsules can be sent to labs that test for these toxins so you know for sure.
- They may not be in a form that the body readily digests them so they can be absorbed. You know that you have a non-bio-available supplement if you can read the capsule label in the bottom of the port-a-potty. Those who clean port-a-pottys comment on the expensive “nutrition” that wasn’t absorbed in the body.
Generally speaking, health food stores carry a higher quality brand than regular stores and pharmacies. Network marketing companies tend to have higher quality and better quality control.
I mainly order my supplements and herbs from labs that make their products available to practitioners only. They have superb quality control and don’t put their products on the internet or sell to the lay person. The supplements that I use, the Primivia line, are my personal formulations that I have designed and the laboratories create to my specifications. I arranged to have the Vital Primivia capsules placed in a daily packet so that you only need to open the packet and take the contents, instead of opening 6 or more bottles each time you take supplements. This also makes it easier to transport a week’s worth or whatever length of time you will be gone, in a purse, bag, or suitcase, rather than several bottles or a large pill container.
a woman wrote about her young daughter who she gave a certain supplement to and it calmed her down. she took her off of it and the problems came back. what is the supplement she gave her? I thought it was a recent entry but I can’t find it. she even took her to the doctor who told her to give this to the child.
Let’s talk about products that can ‘calm down.’
Since a lot of anxiety or irritability may be related to serotonin deficiency, serotonin precursors like 5:HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) or tryptophan will help. I prefer to get a urine test that documents deficiency prior to starting treatment, and follow-up lab so you know when to stop or reduce dosage.
There are many calming herbs that have helped many people:
- valerian root,
- passion flower,
- I recently found Kavinace helpful for many of my patients.
Just wondering about your thoughts about a product called Zymessence for shrinking fibroids?
Zymessence is a concoction of a number of enzymes, all of which the body makes or are used commonly in pancreatic enzyme mixes, so it is safe.
One ingredient, amla, is an ayurvedic herb which is also safe. This product is marketed for a number of female problems, and it makes scientific sense that it could work. My position is that fibroids are part of estrogen dominance, so prevalent is many women, and could be corrected by adding progesterone if the fibroid is not too large. Just another thing to consider. Remember to work with your physician in carefully deciding what to do for optimal health.
Please send me info about June 25th. My husband and I would like to come. I had 6-way bypass and have lupus. We are trying to get healthy with alternative herbs etc. Thank You
For the serious problems you describe, cardiovascular disease and lupus, you will probably need an alternative-minded physician with lots of experience. Your success will start with a good diet (no sugars, soda pop, processed food) to remove pro-inflammatory substances and potent supplements. IV chelation therapy with Magnesium-EDTA may be needed to reduce the risk of further vascular disease and blood vessel blockage.
Aggressive laboratory evaluation for possible triggers of the autoimmune disease, lupus, may be necessary and removal or treatment of those triggers so the attack on your body can be slowed down or reversed. In the meantime, natural anti-inflammatories will be useful–MSM, boswelia, curcumen. We will be releasing a good one called Primivia Relief in the next 2 months.
Study Questions Evidence Behind Heart Therapies
New research reported in the Wall Street Journal reveals that only 11% of more than 2700 recommendations approved by cardiologists are supported by high quality research. Harlan Krumholz, a cardiologist at Yale University School of Medicine says, “Treatment decisions are often made very dogmatically even when the level of evidence isn’t very strong.” Even when Continue reading The Questionable Evidence Behind Heart Therapies
